Questions parents ask

Everything you're wondering, answered

How does an online school actually work?

Your child works through structured, CAPS-aligned lessons, practice and assessments from home, at their own pace. The programme keeps them on track day by day, and our ChatBuddy gives friendly help the moment they get stuck.

Is online schooling recognised in South Africa?

Yes — thousands of South African families educate at home. Learners register with the Department of Basic Education as home learners, and we guide you through that registration and provide the CAPS-aligned reports and evidence of learning it requires.

What will it cost?

We will announce fees when registration opens, and the early-access list hears first. Affordability is the whole point of Diipone Academy — our aim is fees often less than the petrol money of a daily school run.

What does my child need at home?

A smartphone, tablet or laptop with an internet connection is enough. The platform is built for South African realities: lessons and tests keep working through load-shedding, and work is never lost.

Which grades can enrol?

Our first intake is Grade 8 in January 2027 — so a child in Grade 7 during 2026 is exactly who we are starting with. We add a new grade every year after that, so the founding class grows with us all the way to matric.

Do I need to teach my child myself?

No. Lessons, practice and feedback are built into the platform, and the ChatBuddy supports your child on demand. You see progress at a glance and get early alerts when something needs attention — in the loop, without standing at a whiteboard.
